War Pigs
As a peace educator, I often think about how the United States commits terrible acts all around the world and against its own people because this nation is addicted to war (and violence). I believe I’ve mentioned the graphic novel 'Addicted to War' in the past, and if you haven’t read it yet, please do!
For the past twenty months, the US has supported Israel in its illegal massacre of Palestinians, while (almost) all of our elected leadership has actively supported these war crimes. Then, we supported Israel’s “pre-emptive strikes”—FYI: not a real thing, those are actually called ATTACKS—on neighboring sovereign states, until the US just this week bombed Iran’s nuclear facilities. What’s funny: Iran has been complying with international treaties, but the US and Israel have not, and yet our media and leaders do a bang-up job making Iran the bad guys.
I could go on, but instead, I will share an audio link with you. Just two nights ago, my friend and colleague, John Garay, had me as a guest on his Radio Show, “Transmissions from the InterZone,” on Radio Kingston, where we discussed the War Pigs and their lack of humanity. We, of course, ran out of time to discuss all the things we had hoped to discuss, but I think it’s a pretty great conversation. It’s an hour long with some great sound collages, created by John. Please give it a listen!
War Pigs, the Enemies of Humanity
